Each year members get together to tour other member’s bonsai collections and gardens.

2pm – Picnic at Cheryl Sykora (Hudson, WI) Cheryl & Bill will be providing brats and hotdogs

Tour Locations:
The MBS annual bonsai garden tour is on Saturday, July 20th with four gardens open to the membership from 10am to 1pm and a final stop at 2pm at Cheryl Sykora’s garden for discussion and refreshments.
The three other gardens in the tour include:
10am to 1pm
• Carol Novak – works with Andrew Robson and specializes in deciduous
• Scott Vanderlinde – works with Peter Tea and hasn’t opened his garden for several years
• Derek Hill Munoz – a newer member who works with professionals and has a focus on collected conifer material
The gardens are spread across the Twin Cities from west to east for those that are planning their driving trip most efficiently.
Final stop 2pm:
• Cheryl Sykora – My garden was open to the public last year, contains a few different trees, and expanded bench space for easier viewing. In addition, my husband has an expansive model train layout that can be viewed by attendees and has expanded in complexity since last year.
Cheryl & Bill will be providing brats and hotdogs. Bring your own chairs as we have some chairs but not enough for a large crowd.
Please mark your calendars for July 20th as viewing and talking to other people involved in bonsai can be a very rewarding experience and provides information on collection maintenance and development.
The tour is a great way to get inspiration and ask questions on trees, bonsai stands and cold frames!
