We are fortunate to have Matt lead two full day workshops when he returns this year.  One will include a 5-gallon nursery Picea glauca var. densata (Black Hills Spruce).  A hardy tree which grows well in our climate.  In the other workshop, participants will be working on their own trees.  Bring your tools and wire including heavy gauges (copper preferred.  Expect to perform the necessary techniques under Matt’s supervision.  An excellent opportunity to advance your skills and confidence.

All day observer spots will also be offered for anyone wanting to learn species specific care and scope of work for trees in late summer, early fall.  You should plan on attending the beginning of the workshop for a brief didactic session, then you will visit each work station with Matt to see how he addresses the needs of each individual tree.  You are welcome to spend the day observing, but it is not required.  Bring your own lunch or be prepared to order from a local sandwich shop.  Beverages will be provided. There will only be 6 working and 6 observer positions each day, so sign up early!
